Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I add or manage Clients? (New in v1.4)

In version 1.4 and later, managing clients is easy:

  1. Go to the Settings screen (gear icon).
  2. Tap on the new Clients Card.
  3. Tap "Add Client" to create a profile. You can set a unique name, color, and a default hourly rate for this client.
  4. When tracking time, simply tap the "Client" button to assign the session.
2. What is the Consistency Heatmap?

The Consistency Heatmap is a new visualization tool in the Analytics tab (v1.4+). It displays your work habits over the last 4 months in a grid format.

Darker green squares indicate days with high activity (more hours logged). This helps you visualize your "streak" and maintain a steady work rhythm.

3. How do I calculate my "Top Client"?

The app automatically calculates which client has generated the most revenue for you over the selected period (Week, Month, or All Time). You can see this card in the Analytics > Insights section.

4. Why am I getting "Pause Reminders"?

Smart Notifications are designed to prevent data loss. If you pause a timer and forget about it for over 1 hour, ClariRate will remind you to either resume work or save the session so you don't lose your tracked time.

5. How do I restore my PRO purchase?

If you have purchased the PROductive subscription but still see ads or cannot access PRO features (like Monthly Charts, Heatmap, or CSV export), please restore your purchase:

  1. Open ClariRate.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap "Restore Purchases".

The app will verify your Apple ID and unlock the features automatically. You will not be charged again.

6. How do I export my data?

CSV Export is a PRO feature. As of version 1.4, the export file also includes a column for Client Name.

  1. Go to the History tab.
  2. Tap the Share icon (top right).
  3. Choose a destination (Save to Files, Email, etc.).
7. I forgot to stop the timer. Can I edit a session?

Yes. Go to the History tab, tap on the session you wish to modify, and you can update the start/end time, hourly rate, or change the assigned client.

8. How do I delete my data?

All your session and client data is stored locally on your device.

  • To delete a session: Swipe left on the session in the History tab and tap "Delete".
  • To delete a client: Go to Settings > Clients, swipe left on the client name, and tap "Delete".

Note: Deleting a client does not delete the sessions associated with them, but unlinks the client profile from those sessions.
